We have found VEGAN shawarma in South East London and it is seriously good

We know that the vegan/vegetarian foodie scene has really picked up in recent years with finally more interesting vegan options on menus to choose from rather than having to opt for the generous offer of ‘we can just swap the meat out for a few vegetables’.

But when it comes to fast food options it can sometimes be a bit few and far between - sometimes a Quorn burger substitute just won’t cut it. This is why we got SO excited when we found Ganoush Lebanese Grill in Brockley. This tasty Middle Eastern mezze has a menu with a variety of delicious options that caters equally to both vegetarians and meat-eaters.

Being vegetarian I normally walk straight past any food restaurant that has the word ‘grill’ in it, as the veggie dishes are usually a bit lazy, I mean we like a grilled aubergine and all, but come on, try harder. Ganoush Lebanese Grill has done just that, they have actually put together a mouth-watering menu for vegans and vegetarians - let’s take a moment to talk about their vegan shawarma kebab. WOW. It is seriously delicious. This vegan shawarma is a noble recreation of the traditional chicken shawarma featuring marinated seitan served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles (£7.95). If that doesn’t tickle your fancy there are also three falafel dishes to choose from, traditional falafel (£6.50), spicy falafel (£6.50) or falafel Halloumi (£7.50) and this falafel is the real deal, perfectly seasoned and moist.

For those who do eat meat, Ganoush Lebanese Grill has an authentic selection from like Lamb Shawarma (£7.50), Kafta Meshwi (£7.50) or Ganoush Mixed Grill (£25.00).

There are lots of traditional Middle Eastern sides to choose from like Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, stuffed vine leaves and traditional salads like Tabbouleh. Now let’s talk chips. No, chips are no traditional Lebanese cuisine but we Brits love chips, and these chips are so good, crispy and perfectly cooked, so def add them on.

So if you’re looking for vegan takeaway vegan shawarma kebab in South London, head straight to Ganoush Lebanese Grill or even better, they are on Deliveroo here.
