Peckham already has one popular underground radio station Balamii, and now we are lucky enough to welcome a brand new one that focuses on bringing female and diverse talent to the airwaves - foundation.fm.
Foundation.FM, is founded by three super talented women - Becky Richardson (Ghost Promo, UROK Management) Ami Bennett (Somethin’ Else, R1, 1Xtra and Asian Network) and Frankie Wells (Radar Radio, Capital Xtra & BBC Radio 1Xtra), who are on a mission to showcase the hottest emerging talent in the underground music scene.
The station, which is run out of Peckham Levels is all about promoting women and having a "zero-tolerance policy" on racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia. Foundation FM is a celebration of all genders and communities and what those people can achieve when given support and opportunity in the music industry.
The station won’t be solely focused on music, it aims to schedule chat-led show like the Receipts Podcast; who combine brutally honest problem-solving with Drake singalongs. The stations DJs include Tayylor Made, Flexx, Becky Tong, Concrete Jungyals and Sistren, whose podcast champions queer women of colour.
